The Midnight Realms..!

A wasted plain...

(WARNING: the images here may lead you into dark places not easily escaped...)

-A shattered land, ravaged by endless hordes of demons, and the home of the half-devils known as Tarterans. They protect the land against the ultimate force of destruction itself, hordes of Demons plague this land...

A Tarteran flies in...

-The Tarterans own twisted form of society and honor is not all that binds them together...

A prince greets you...

-Here silver is more valuable than gold for it's usefulness against the demon hordes, and rare souls are the most expensive thing one can purchase....

A dangerous spirit...
-Beware those whom you might think of as allies, since in the "Great Game"(the Tarteran way of social advancement), no-one can truely be trusted forever, so one must always be on guard...

This warrior is ready..!

-As if treachery was the worst thing one could encounter in the Midnight Realm, there are things so unspeakably alien and mind-numbingly horrific about that no sane being is truely safe...

A nightgaunt spies you...

-The Midnight Realms have their own share of mysterious and sometimes unique creatures scuttling in lonely places, usually seeking prey of one kind or another...

A dark abomination scuttles across the land...

-There are the occasional alien spiritforms who seek to devour all too...

A hungry entity...

-Against all these horrors, the Tarterans stand - often alone, facing seemingly impossible odds...

Golgothon soldiers keep the demons at bay...

-But those who live their lives in such places usually learn new ways of dealing with such threats...

A demonhunter practices...

-Even if it means helping those who are not prepared for the dangers of the open wastes...

Travellers in trouble...

-Not all of the creatures encountered here are evil though...

An earth elemental approaches..!

-Though often the definition of "evil" can be rather loosley interpreted in the case of so many of the inhabitants as to make such distinctions difficult at best...

-Still, the Midnight Realms attract merchants from across the known multiverse, seeking prosperity in this lonely place...

A lonely outpost...

-The towers of Tarteran cities beckon to those travellers, whispering of unimaginable possibilities...

Towers of a princedom...

-For those who might seek to simply take what they want, the Tarterans have strict laws, and grim punishments...

-Still, there will always be the foolish, who fail to understand the dangers inherent to these lands, in particular to the arts of Summoning...

A foolish summoner has made his last mistake...

-There has also appeared a strange offshoot of the Ice demons, called by some "the Blue Tarterans", since it is well-known they are not related to Demons in the same way as Night Demons...

A powerful Ice Demon...

-The intrepid explorer may find the Midnight Realm a bit unusual in that there is no true "day" as Talislanteans understand it.  Instead a black sun rises each "night", blotting out the stars and possibly a moon which normally "illuminate" the landscape...

The Midnight Sun setting...

-The interiors of most Tarteran buildings are not well lit, since the Tarterans have little use for large amounts of lit, unless they suspect the presence of Night Demons or the odd Ebonite...

An internal layout...

-There are innumerable tombs littering various places in the Midnight Realms, though do not expect that they are all completely abandon...

A necrophage smells fresh food...

-In a few places, the Tarterans are making some progress in establishing new outposts...

City towers...

-These efforts are often aided by those Tarterans adept in the use of magic, usually hailing from the city of Avernon...

An Avernon Sorcerer, Path of Elements...

-Take special precautions against possible trickery when dealing with such "Sorcerers" though, as some of them are not to be trusted for any reason...

Purgatory...
...HERE she is in 4th edition .pdf format...

-Remember though, that Tarterans are not the only ones with magical capabilities...

An extra-dimensional being of pyromantic bent...

-Seek out the unusual though, as it wil often lead to interesting places...

A floating citadel...

-When on such explorations, it is wise to seek an able guide, even if they must be carefully watched...

A powerful denizen of Tarteran society...

-Even so, there are many hauntingly beautiful places to visit...

A beautiful bit of coastline on the aetheric sea...

-Though dangerous spiritforms must always be watched out for...

A frightening apparition appears..!

-The adventurous pilgrim may yet find unknown wonders in the wilds though, the most amazing and stunning finds are likely to still be lurking just over the next hill...

A strange sight...
